had the emulation/iso set up in jan so I waited a few months for it to presumably get better
updated shadps4 the other day and the game runs but the gameplay is a black screen, so the hud is there, the game responds to inputs, the audio is accurate, but I can't see shit.

just play at locked 30 fps
53 hours in this game and it crashed less than when I played New Vegas, plus it takes like 5 seconds to get back in action

I was just at the Hyperborean Gaol, dressed in the Choir garb (ng+). I was shocked when the prisoner lady thought I was one of the Healing Church Clergy. This game still surprises me.

Yeah, I originally bought my PS4 Pro with BB as the only game I had in mind. Bought a shitload of other games for it since, but yeah, I was willing to shell out a grand total on $240 on eBay for both and even if it was the only game worth playing on the console, it would've been worth it.

yeah beat it 1 months ago.
after trying shadps4 and ps4 i think the best way to play is still on a ps4 but a jailbroken one with the frame pacing patch applied. textures still look weird on shadps4
the only real issue with the og is the horrible frame pacing anyway.

as for the game:
dlc carries it hard. the setting is great but it gets boring after a while. level designs are good. bosses are shit.
after yharnam, maps become just another generic souls formula with swamps, sewers etc. overall i think it's a mid tier souls with a really good cover.
for me it's still sekiro, feels like sekiro was what bb meant to be in terms of a new breath on the series, but with a solid implementation unlike bb.
also the lore is top-tier, mainly the reason why souls obsesed schizos praises it so much. the "i'm special for playing this" value surrounding it doesnt help either.
