I feel the same, it doesn't seem right to play video games anymore without something informative in the background, or an audiobook. Maybe it's just getting older.

Huge problem for me too. I recently watched a YouTube video review of whatever and just when I was about to switch to another tab while listening to it, a little popup appeared of quick irrelevant gameplay with a little "ADHD cam" caption. I laughed but then I realized it's working since my brain relaxed as I kept looking at the popup every time I was getting bored with the review. Suddenly I realized this is the same thing as those TikTok videos for zoomers which have irrelevant GTAV gameplay playing at lower part of the screen.

When I play most vidya I have podcasts in the background and threads open on another screen too.

My brain is fried bros...

I do this because im alone in my life. When i shut down the 2nd screen to focus on game, the silence and stagnation in my life becomes palpable. I just need some social white noise as it were. It comes and goes in phases for months at a time.
