>>They introduce the character over several games and spinoffs.
>>He seems like a cool mastermind who planned everything.
This assessment of Wesker has never made sense unless you only watch the movies or only played RE4.
Here is Wesker per the games
>RE1
A security admin / R&D guy who wants more money.
That's his grand plan.
>Code Veronica / Survivor 2
A hilarious jobber who is super fucking mad that Chris blew up his pet monster because it cost him the upper management position, so now he has to do literal grunt work to make up for it. He loses or runs away from every fight he starts, and only manages to succeed in one of his goals due to sheer luck.
Survivor 2 reveals he was emailing his boss the whole time as well btw.
>Resident Evil Zero
This kind of adds nothing to him, just makes his goals seem cooler when he's basically talking about how he cleared his job interview from Evil Corporation #2.
>Resident Evil 4
He is not present for the entire game until the ending of Assignment Ada, wherein he laughs maniacally about "significant changes in our world".
Separate Ways changes him a tiny bit, but it's still the same shit, he's not exactly 'mysterious' in his goals, he's only mysterious because he's not actually in the main fucking game.
>The Umbrella Chronicles
It's like CV but he wins the fights he's in.
>Resident Evil 5
Literally had so little going on that he just stole Spencer's plan.
