Sword gaslighting needs to stop. All armies used spears exclusively until gun powder was discovered. Swords were ceremonial weapons or for dunking on peasants. At best, if you were a nobleman you might have to use one in a duel. But in any encounter, the spear will trounce the sword. Even axes are better than swords, they don't shatter or bend, they can be used to bash and even have utility outside of combat. What can you do with a sword outside of combat? Tree suckering or jungle clearing?

if it's the one where he wrecks his best friend's tea shop over a death grudge because of a lying student, I think it was (ιε η²) Fearless (2006)
excellent film, even if Greater Co-Prosperity Sphere propaganda

your dramatic stand is several years too late. the new contrarian position is arguing the strengths of longswords for plate armored opponents that can shrug of spear thrusts and slashing polearms.

You wouldnt do wood chopping with a waraxe anon. You would know why if you ever done any woodchopping or looked at what waraxe head looks like

He's faster than your fatass and you won't know when to strike.
Let's assume you go for a horizontal swing to get the most coverage and capture his spastic ass, he can leap backwards during one of the counter-clockwise turns he's doing and give you a lunge in the fucking chest.
Not so smart now, retard?

i really hate chinese spears in real life. they're so thin and small, what can they do to anyone wearing armor? and the guy in the webm isn't even stabbing accurately at all, he's so focused on doing ridiculous windmills. a peasant holding a spear like a cue stick could stab faster
>>717914616 >breaks some thin aluminum and a flimsy ceramic tile >has to charge up over like 7 seconds with 0 spatial awareness and extraneous movement that locks him down
lol I run in with a sword and stab him
>>717911163 >Simply just stand there watching him tire himself out. >implying he'll keep spinning indefinitely like a top
Man you're real retarded. He'll lunge at you when you least expected like he's doing in the video.

They were late medieval era things. They basically were only revelant for one century, then they got shafted because firearms nearly made all armors useless.
