Like I said, they are ultimately more intimate with their chosen medium, which is more than can be said for manga fans, who often treat their chosen medium as something to be rushed through in the most convenient way possible with no real appreciation for anything. That's why most manga discussions tend to be completely lobotomized with minimal exceptions.
