In CS, there are tight corridors, maps have been played a thousand times, you can enemies shooting/running. So someone in CS flicking from one direction onto an enemy making noise is likely since there are only so many places an enemy will be.

I have been, years ago, when playing CS 1.6. I'd always rush upstairs on Dust with a Mac-10 in the first seconds of the match and headshot people that do not expect someone to be there that early.
