harsh but fair. Ultrahand wasn't fun to use and ruined half the shrines. So either you play boring shrines or you dont and have only enough hearts to tank one hit before having to pause the game and eat food

I agree. Not as a contrarian but as someone who has 200 hours (emulated) in botw, back from 2021. I can't put my finger on why it doesn't work for me but one possible avenue is that the switch was the wrong console for totk. Nintendo tried to implement systems, organic background activity and events that would cause emergent gameplay but their hardware limited them to one of those features (building contraptions) to about 60% of it's potential. Almost like they tried to make it an imsim.
