Well, Tethealla (server emulator) is older than Ephinea (uses a modified version of Tethealla). Maybe you played on some test pre-ephinea server by Sodaboy, or maybe you are confusing it with schthack or ultima or something like that.
To be honest, I haven't played PSO online in years (I only play it offline), so I don't remember much about the PSOBB community back then.

Basically the server is super juiced right now with increased exp drop and spawn rates that will only continue to grow as the server completes shit. Theres also the badge shit but the rewards seem meh

theres alternatives to help switch it up, especially if you're in a group, but yeah ttf runs are the best exp all the way through. when you're hunting for your chase items though(the real end game) you've got tons of variety to choose from
