This is the video game crash we've all talked about. It won't go out with a bang but a whimper. AAA funding will dry up and a lot of studios will close. Indie games aren't going anywhere but making a living off of gamedev will be like trying to make a living playing guitar. Something you dont quit your dayjob over because most wont suceed. Well Roblox, Fortnite, GTA, and CoD will keep going strong. It can't be helped.

Ten years from now the talent and resources to make something like Red Dead Redemption 2 simply won't exist. Most of the people in this age group are either still in University or simply didn't go, or took a few years off to "find themselves", or dropped out. The ones that graduated are, yes, absolutely fucked, but they aren't the bulk of this age group.

Most of my ex's classmates would max out their credit cards and burn through whatever grants they got, getting doordash 3x a day, pissing away money on slop, subscriptions, etc. Why? Because "we'll never own anything or work, so why bother". Bitch if I spent 100+/day on getting mcdonalds delivered to my door I'd be tying the noose as I contemplate whether it's fair for Kumar (if he actually delivers the food at all) to be the one to find me.

These are the people that will somehow get into some form of policy or other office role and people will be genuinely surprised when nothing gets done while cash burns.
