The only way to get the happiest ending is to side with songbird. That way she lives, Alex lives and you put down Reed who you can tell doesn't really believe in what he's doing anymore. He's just an old attack dog who cant learn new tricks. Even Johnny says he'll probably end up offing himself if you side with him.
