How can the rest of FG devs and fanbases not be completely demoralized knowing/seeing that SF6 is basically the entire genre for the vast majority of people? It consistently has more players than the entire rest of the genre combined, especially when a DLC character releases. It has broken records with things like Evo attendance. Whenever someone talks about a Fighting Game now and/or which one they should play it's 80% of the time just SF6 with Tekken being 15%, and GG Strive being the last 5%.

The demoralizing part of SF6's success is having my favorite fighting game series turned into a parody of itself and watching shit eaters praise Capcom for it.

simple because that's the way it's always been. outside of SF5 capcom had a stranglehold on the FG space. i vivedly recally going to tournaments where UMVC3/SF4 was packed and every other game like gg or tekken tag 2 was unable to get enough to fill a top 8. the only difference for me was that i liked SF4 so i was riding high, i don't care about SF6 but as long as i have enough players to play the game i like without needing to join a discord that's good enough for me.

Tekken 8 gets shit on for making the game gorilla aggressive, encouraging players to be on each other's face all the time and bypassing fundamentals.
SF6 does all that too, and it's fucking hideous to boot. The only reason it didn't get dropped as hard as Tekken is because Capcultists are truly a loyal bunch; it doesn't matter how badly Capcom fucks up, they WILL take it gladly.

I handled it by quitting the scene. Not playing juggle 8, might come back early for virtua fighter, but fuck last-gen zero-effort 6.
