As someone who played it fully within the last year, it does not hold up very well. It's a fine generic JRPG, but the issue is that it doesn't hold up as a decent Drakengard entry and missed most of the marks the prior game hit.
It feels completely unrelated, both story and artistically. And no, the use of Growing Wings at a bad time does not make it Kino. It misses the entire point of the fucking song being about deep seated incest and hidden feelings in a world on fire.
I hate to parrot the meme but it is a decent game on it's own, it is NOT a good Drakengard game. It is steaming shit as a Drakengard game that has you playing as generic "stars in his eyes" shounen who saves the world like any other JRPG. Caim didn't save the world in any version of Drakengard. He fucked it in multiple different ways of varying degrees of awful.
I may be drunk but even I can see that this was a complete misfire considering the previous title. The only good thing it gave was adult Manah to ride my cock.
