Not a chance in hell, the big greedy corporation bought them because that's how business works, you buy things and either double their value to sell to someone else or shut it down and use what you can salvage to pump up something else.

If that sounds retarded to you, then congratulations you're smarter than a collage graduate, the kind of retards running microdick.
Obsidian can continue making their next big shit heap and if it doesn't sell, they'll be shut down and redirected into Fallout because that's what people keep demanding.

I'm going to spoil a big secret about Lefties.

Lefties, in their modern incarnation, only exist to critique power, they don't exist to change anything, or help anyone, or attack power, which they will gladly take money from them and become stooges for Power.

they just exist to critique it, endlessly, and purity spiral over each other critiquing it, and purity spiral over just how alleged they are to their causes.

this is how you can make a game supporting communism and critiquing capitalism (Outer Worlds doesn't do that, but they think they do, all the systems in place in the Outer World are outright Tyrannical fascist states acting like Corps)

this is how you end up in a position like this, there isn't any beat missed.

it released in the perfect conditions with everyone hating on fallout 76 and this being the "new new vegas"

The game was not very good.
>Basically every stat check in the game can be passed by changing your pants/hat, if not a very small amount of investment in each stat will make you able to do literally everything
>Writing is INCREDIBLY annoying. People call it "Rick & Morty" and it is obvious that it genuinely did get a lot of inspiration from that
>Combat is just as bad as New Vegas, but it came out 9 years later
>Companions are dogshit. The companion with the longest questline is genuinely an "asexual" Lesbian (as if that makes any sense) who wants to go on a date with some engineering lady
>Levels/worlds are small but not dense. Mostly feel rushed, low effort, and low budget
>Game presents basically one choice in the first area of the game and then lacks anything after
>Unsatisfying quests, both main and side
>Story is just generic "corporations bad" (I am not even arguing they aren't) but with no interesting twists or any considerations
It just isn't good. I don't know how this game even got a sequel and why Microsoft thought this was an $80 game.

New Vegas' combat feels janky and weird, but it came out in 2010 and had a large amount of build variety along with all of the qualities of the game. Outer Worlds is more focused on combat than ever before and it is horrible.
Outer Worlds 2 will probably have better combat though. Avowed's combat is actually pretty decent. I mean the writing is god awful and it is full of tumblr tier shit but the actual combat is not bad.

The people praising it most likely didn't buy it, play it, or played for an hour and got distracted by something shiny. The dialogue was so fucking boring and tired. Capitalism this, big corpo that, nobody anywhere ever is happy, make the quota or you'll get scalped, etc. I get it, but it was stale and boring as fuck then and it will continue to be. I don't need to hear some retards take on space walmart destroying the indigenous fart-trapping industry/culture, give me something new. You're in motherfucking space. Somehow humans have made it to other fucking planets to the point living off of earth is routine. Supply chains mostly work, despite the absolutely fucking distances and hurdles. Leftist "commie" pedoretards absolutely LOVE the government and taste of boot as long as they think they can criticize capitalism and the state (they can but it doesn't matter or change anything).
That's because they are all words and no action, they think that by repeating something over and over they're somehow making a difference (they are not).
They also love hypocrisy, which never applies to themselves and only to others, especially the people they start arguments with.

I think it's biggest crime is just kind of being boring. The most notable aspects are how cloying it is with its singular, solitary joke it spreads over the entire game. The exploration is mediocre, the characters and stories are boring, the combat never gets interesting, even the looting is just kind of dull. It doesn't fulfill any of the expected systems you'd want but its not so fantastically bad as to be memorable for it.

It's just so weirdly forgettable.

My biggest issue with OW is that the idea it presents and what it actually does are completely different. I was expecting raypunk robber barons and the player taking on the role of space Teddy Roosevelt. But instead I got some shitty barista commie trash about ā€œmuh ebil corposā€ that are so fucking stupid you cannot believe they’re a credible threat. Add the shitty brick and mortar science man who is supposed to be a massive terrorist revolutionary yet he just fucks around for most of the game while you’re the one that gets shit done and the game has nothing to offer. Like where the fuck is the edge? I was expecting child labor and the kind of disgusting food processing that would make Upton Sinclair have a stroke.

By funding the thing they criticize they enable them to keep doing business the way they have been.
The reality is that most of those "peasants" are not interested in change and just want the fleeting feeling of moral superiority. Change would be scary, it would disrupt their comfortable life, it would mean no longer looking down on others who don't share their beliefs.

i did .... its not good

imagine fallout 4, but without any plot, coherent setting thats just a string of disconnected locations and repetetive shallow combat
they copied everything from fallout 4, good or bad with 0 care to improve anything, it just feels like shitty half assed no budget dlc for that game
also its woke as fuck, every woman looks like a lesbian ... and is a lesbian

Well you have to buy things to label yourself anti-capitalist. Made by a capitalist. Rebellion is an aesthetic to be sold.

I played it. I wouldn't call it a good game, but at the same time, I can't call it a bad game either. It's just middling. It had a few good ideas like it's skill system, but it was so bogged down by it's dull characters. The devs just played it too safe. Didn't take any risks, and it shows. I'm not holding my breath for the sequel.
