GOTY hasn't meant shit for years now tho, it's just like the gOySCARS but even more cringe.

It will win all the categories for games with actual gameplay. That's usually where Nintendo games shine.
Shit like best game, best narrative, etc. is usually relegated to movies.

This games good but GOTY will go to either E33 or Kirby Air Riders, assuming the latter is released early enough. That game will be dripping with game essence, and packed full of features from Sakurai-San's 30+ years of director experience.

Yes, Air Ride was polarizing, but Sakurai only took over as director in the last few months at the request of the lead programmer. Despite that, the game found a base, and Air Riders has been in development for over three years now. That's longer than Brawl, Uprising, Smash 4, and Smash Ultimates dev cycles. Look to his other games and their presentations, soundtracks, and amount of content they held if you doubt these words. We are not ready for Air Riders.

This year has been bsolutely fucking awful for gaming so getting a GOTY award is basically just saying it's the "least bad" game.
