How bad will it be? I'm still upset at the wasted opportunity, VtMB is one of my favorite games

You know that disappointment you felt from Starfield?
Multiply it by 90% because they arbitrarily chose to tie it to a beloved classic, setting themselves up for extra failure.

I think it will be good enough that people hoping for a catastrophe will be deprived their show, and not good enough that people hopng it fills the vtmb hole in them will be satisfied.

There was never going to be a real sequel to Bloodlines because Bloodlines could only exist in the time it was released. You could have a game with equal or greater art direction, soundtrack and writing, but its that early 2000's grime and edginess that really ties the whole thing together

All that said, /if/ the game *is* good, people will disregard the name. I mean, people disregard "Alucard".

I think it'll be very good, but they're doing themselves no favors by waiting so long for the final marketing push. I do know why they've been so skittish. They've wanted to hide how much they're changing the game behind the scenes. The more they show of it, the more obvious the changes would be. It would be bad for PR to come across as creatively uncertain. But they're locked in now. Game is in final polish stage.

There are some interesting differences between the Jan 2024 footage and the updated Game Informer podcast b-roll playing in the background.
