Why are they acting like the game doesn't exist? 3.5 million sales since release might not be big compared to other action RPGs or MH but it's not small either, surely its worthy of a mid-sized expansion like Dark Arisen? Its predecessor MT Framework already had a LOT of problems rendering Monster Hunter World and RE Engine is even less suited to open-world games than that, mind you World wasn't even open-world proper but the fifty fucking billion AI routines everywhere from endemic life choked it really bad

I actually managed to put more or less 120h in DD2 and get all achievements, despite agreeing with most negative things said about it.
Which makes it ever more bittersweet and frustrating. It could've been good.

Dragons dogma has had 2 chances to overtake the souls series who are obviously their main competitors.

Capcom should focus deep down demos combat while adding the best parts of dragons dogma like the climbing mechanic.

I don't know what's going on at Capcom but it feels like they stopped caring since a few years ago, or even worse like they have some sort of spite. They don't care about improving or adding to DD2, they don't care about fixing MoHun Wilds. They're so open about being all like "Nah we're not gonna bother fuck you."

It's even more weird considering they had a good reputation in the 2010s, many thinking of them as one of the few good companies while other were dragging their name through mud. Then they decided to sell HARD to the west and went about it the laziest way: just got the loudest "consultants" which of course happened to be ones that don't give a shit about vidya and want to see it burned.
To add on top of that now with that US government backing gone and some of those consultants exposed you'd expect them to stop going in this direction but instead they're doubling down. Still looking to reduce costs as much as possible, still outsourcing, still trying to pander to people who don't play games and once they put a game out they forget about it.

Something definitely changed at Capcom around 2018-2020 in terms of who runs things and it's almost like they seem intent on running the company into the ground, either that or they're just CONVINCED to death that it's the way they'll succeed and make most profit. It sucks there are still a decent amount of people riding the 2010s high and giving them money but I doubt it will still last for long.

Posting some webms of attacking some goblins and ogres won't make you right. They're a tiny fraction of the whole experience. After 40something hours and getting the true ending it's absolutely overall more negative than positive. Yeah I can go out of Vermund/Battahl/checkpoint area and fight some shit and have some okay time leveling a new vocation to see what it does but that's about the height of what the game can give. Everything else is so mediocre or just so goddamn EMPTY.
