yes but even they wont throw the money on another mmo, especially when they're going hard on FF7 remakes, but also because the actual company is fucked they couldn't actually get that money together, so no more MMOs from SE.

>I don't think you're looking far enough into the future.
I am and MMO as we know them are basically dead
> XIV was not built like WoW where they can constantly update graphics and art to keep itself somewhat modern.
they are literally doing this right now
> In a decade XIV will feel old and extremely held back by its technology compared to more modern games.
so is literally all mmos, some argue FFXIV is already feeling held back, but guess what you can still improve on them and this is way cheaper than making a new from the ground up MMORPG and then ask players to abandon the game they've spend most of their lives in to play the new one, abandon their characters, the world they call a second home, people won't do that easily, there are still people playing WoW just because its their comfort zone, this is also why a lot of new mmos just outright fail, they cannot get players to drop their old mmos, playing an mmo is arguably a lifestyle.
>But they need to build an off ramp for XIV sometime in the next decade for it to go maintenance mode like XI did.
or they just keep FFXIV going, let it ride out its life and actually focus on getting the franchise to connect with newer players in meaningful ways and fix the company instead of trying another mmo and be doomed.
