Why are the people that play Versus such fucking angry crybabies and sore losers? Even if you don't get votekicked you can fuck up one charge/spit and one of your teammates will still harass you about it 3 chapters later. It's baffled me for years, especially considering how there's no form of matchmaking and no kind of rankings or ELO to lose.

It’s an unfortunate side effect of being a game that’s been out for ages so now most players on vs are hardcore no lighters that know all the spots, all the tricks, and know what is situationally best based on the infected setup at certain times. These manchildren get upset with newer players for not playing since the game released and don’t have the social awareness to welcome new players into their niche community.

This is why no new players can learn the game. There's really no point in even playing L4D competitive. Those that play competitive mostly only play on normal mode anyway.

I actually find it way more fun to play campaign on expert than competitive on normal.
In fact.... if you get 4 pros that play Expert campaign all the time... they are gonna kick the shit out of those whiny brats that play competitive all the time. Just crank it to expert and you'll see the kiddies kick their own teammates and ragequit. They aren't got nothing on real pros that play expert campaign. I've seen this shit happen a lot and it's funny.

When I was new I had no problem learning even when getting kicked every few matches. You just don't have to be a bitch about it and keep playing.

the problem with the game itself is that mastering anything Special Infected requires time, specially with the hunter, specially with the boomer and specially when you get selected to be the tank and it spawns you in a shitty place and you don't know how to set up your next move.

Also, certain players do have a blacklist or keep a list of noobs on their servers, he takes you two players who votekicked you from previous game to get votekicked out from whatever group of people.

It happened to me 15 years ago, with scavenge, I had like less than 100hours, yet I practiced and mastered offline all in game shortcuts, the results was that certain players couldn't keep up on how fast I was bringing cans, certain players hated lone wolves, infect team focused on my why the saw I was going alone and tried hard to bring me down from the third floor of the mall, I switched routes and changed shortcuts, they got even more angry and I never managed to get Scavenge achievements cause I was getting kicked left and right.

Be my guest for VS, I was good with the hunter, I knew certain jockey tricks, the moment I switched to survivals I simply rushed all the way to the safehouse, even more kicks, I played alot with Taaaaaaaaank mutation so guess what? The moment I had a bad spawn as a tank noob complaints rained down like jews complaining about antisemitism.

I simply stopped, on 2015 I played one vs game on The Sacrifice, infect team was doing a shitty job, I did not rush, but neglected all their attempts, got called hacker, hit quit hotkey when votekick started, uninstalled the game and gg

You're lucky that you were playing when people weren't totaly assholes. There were decent people back then that didn't kick for the smallest thing.

All of them left to play other shit. Only ones left are rageing buttmad assholes that rage on the smallest shit.

I have over 800 hours combined in 1 and 2 only playing campaigns with bots on normal. Way more fun than getting yelled at by some moron for the slightest infraction.

What I don't get is why people fucking dawdle in Versus. What the fuck? You're giving the other team more chances to respawn and chip away at your health. Not to mention more time to plan ambushes. I used to get kicked for trying to get my teammates to keep moving.

I usually let the Spas spammers ahead with their ego and their small magazine, and if a Spas spammer is tailing me I simply let him go. The problem arises with the fucking forced gauntlets they created to keep rushers ahead, cause rushers are bad for VS whiners, we usually set up in couples, but certain maps are fucking shit, like literally all the L4D1 maps that got ruined due rushes, you can save No Mercy and Crash Course, rest of the maps are ruined or I simply quit before the last gauntlet before the last stage.

Except I don't, you don't know me. I don't use chat that much and only start votekicks on people who teamkill or are trolling. I don't mind carrying new players or shitters as long as they're actually trying their best. I'm just giving my perspective, If you like the game you shouldn't let some assholes keep you away from sticking around, and maybe even eventually you can be even better than all these toxic tryhards and help out new players instead of just moaning and quitting the game. redsun servers, I must warn you that they are very much "wacky gamer" servers and the entire mode changes every half hour or so and there is plenty of variety, if you just want to play the l4d mode you can find the plugin on github with the name "Super Zombie Fortress" but then you will have to set the server up yourself
