Being developed. You wanted graphics better than Starfield and that polish takes time.

Not coming for at least a few more years.

Phil said 2 years ago it's still "5+ years away" when he testified during the Activision-Blizzard acquisition..

Well, Starfield didn't have many bugs. It is just shit.
Anonymous No.718016130
Wasn't in full development until Shitfield launched.

How can people be legitimately this fucking stupid? Bethesda confirmed developing TES VI only to get HYPE points during E3 because they had no business and no content for their own booth, but tried to push it like complete retards anyway. It's like, yeah, no shit TES studio is developing a TES game, but only development at that time was probably in Todd's head.

Barring indie games, has a game with a longer development cycle than seven years EVER turned out good? It speaks to chaos behind the scenes when they can't get the product out in a reasonable amount of time. Retarded executives, stupid ideas that need to be completely reworked again and again, an incompetent workforce that can't get the job done (the same people who would say that creating BG3 is impossible), executives and peons alike being cycled through, etc.

The #1 thing that the entertainment industry could do to cut down on costs is to blacklist all of the chucklefucks and promote the competent people that they've been desperately keeping from power.

Team Fortress 2 was about 9 or 10 years in the making before it finally released

I can't think of many other examples

Beyond Good and Evil 2 dethroned Duke Nukem Forever as the game that’s spent the longest in development, with it having begun development in (supposedly) 2007.
It’s still not out.

Final Fantasy XIV had a absolute disaster of a dev cycle but it turned out successful and highly rated in the end.

Also Dragons Dogma 1 was in planning since PS2 era but didn't come out until late PS3. It still launched half of what it was supposed to be and they put the other ideas in Dogma 2 (like the cat people).

Half Life 2: Episode 3/Half-Life 3 might actually hold that record, because I have zero faith that the dying Ubisoft is doing ANYTHING with BG&E2, so saying it's in "development hell" feels disingenuous considering I don't think it's even in "development" any more

Imagine making skyrim, then on boarding a bunch of new hires purely because they like skyrim
Then proceed to only make skyrim remasters until they all leave
Now try and make a new skyrim but with all your talent gone
We are in for a rough one fellas

I could bitch about these graphics but in all seriousness if bethesda managed to ape this 2017 tech half convincingly it would be amazing

just put in real guild quests and not just shitty excuses to do generic fucking dungeons. and study mmo raids just for like 2 seconds and have some encounters/heists/bosses just gated behind a skill check and balance accordingly like a real fucking RPG

When you get past a certain point, more money being spent is a sign of unserious and possibly corrupt leadership that isn't prioritizing getting the job done and doing it right. You're probably looking at lots of frivolities like "research" trips that are just vacations and employees just sitting around enjoying the luxury catering and wine fountains + outright counterproductive crap like a bureaucratized process that involves going through ten layers of Karens and idiot MBAs for approval.

This idea that things are created by throwing money on a pentagram, praying to Satan, and then getting a thing in return that's equivalent to the amount of money you sacrificed is retarded.

It's stuck in development hell.
Bethesda has no ideas for it beyond Skyrim 2: Oh No, More Skyrim! which wouldn't be so bad except that by the time TES6 actually releases it'll be the 20th anniversary of Skyrim. And in those 20 years the best they could do is a fucking map pack that would've been a 20 dollar expansion 30 years ago.

I don't know. Most fantasy/RPG games have a few writers if not just one. With a mega-corporation staking record profits on a slop sequel please help send help they better have writing teams working for multiple plot series for guilds.
Honestly with fantasy projects this big it's a little baffling that the online element is nonexistent, but that's fine. Their efforts in that area like F 76 have had mixed results. I don't want to play F76 myself but I know people that like it.
Sure the old model of having a trusted creative mind with basically zero oversight writing an entire fresh world like morrowind might not ever fly at Bethesda again but they don't want for ambition in their studio, only competence.
