What's with games making teenagers more competent than trained adults?

In Martial Arts? The thing is you can cultivate more power unironically when you are younger than an older person, this is a fact. Younger people generally have much stronger capabilities than the older people. You can look up statistics yourself. You reach your peak around 20-25 years old athletics wise then at 30 upwards its downhill from there, your maximum reps and strength possibilities just down spiral.

He was reaching his peak and in developmental years and being given better training due to developments in sports science getting more solid as well. Basically cheat code to success in sports.

Not just games but anime too. I might be an autist but I seriously get mad when the MC who's like 5 years old compared to a decently strong guy with years of experience wins.

Most people find it more interesting to play as a young prodigy over a grizzled veteran.
Also that kind of thing does occasionally happen irl.

Mentally I think adults are more rigid in their ways while younger people are more able to (and more willing to) adapt their thought processes when faced with new obstacles.

This is one of the reasons I prefer to replay the old RE games and was happy about RE7 and Village. Its much more exciting to me to play as rookie ass 18 year old Rebecca Chambers or Ethan Winters than Chris in RE5, a founding member of the BSAA with years of BOW experience under his belt.

Shame that most people are like that because I prefer the vet. JRPGs especially are really stingy about giving you anyone that isn't a teenager.
