none of that applies to games made in the last 15 years. it disheartens people to think that they arent living in a time where they get the latest and greatest just because its whats being sold at the time. but it is something they should learn.

The insane level of backwards compatibility is a huge plus on its own. Many older titles that didn't gain a big following can simply be downloaded for free.

In multiple ways too, durability is a major one, console controllers break a lot. You can also play fine on any old $0-5 office keyboard, controllers are expensive. Superior speed, control and aim in many genres is another big one.

This one's pretty baity, but yeah, being able to play older console games for free is another bonus, plus romhacks of them to increase the difficulty, there are even romhacks to improve the visuals of old games, the fan-made HD version of the N64 Paper Mario for example, a project Nintendo themselves have yet to embark on, but which you'd pay $70 for just for the hit of nostalgia. Free on PC.
