Queen Bitch is meant to be the Morrigan of the setting where she was one of the few born that doesn't look like a walking barnacle. One thing to consider is that the Serans haven't dug further enough into the planet when they were farming up the Immulsion in the early days. There are still entire tunnel networks that predate the Locust who wouldn't go near them even if put a chainsaw to their heads. Not to mention they haven't achieved space flight so they don't know if there is something worse kicking around on the moon.

Someone shilled this game to me around the time of the last sale and I had a lot of fun with it. Hours present aren't even accurate because I pirated it first to see if I'd like it and so I ended up buying it

It got a bit repetitive eventually like all single player games do, but I easily got 300 hours of fun out of it. Easily a 8/10 game if you're into this sort of thing

it would be better if locusts were like a missing link, or a divergent evolution of human or something (or maybe humans evolved from locusts, idk).
the imulsion being hostile is kind of cool, but the locusts literally emerge within a generation, which is just way too short of a time to amass such a massive war machine

I agree, and that was literally my fan theory as a kid because I didn't pay attention to the story details. The locust were a split evolutionary path from a distant ancestor. But epic wanted to go with a punishment for mankind's sins approach.

I'll keep it short for the third game:
Both humans and Locust are fucked up after the events of the second game, trying to rebuild among the ruins. In the meantime, the lambent situation has gotten worse. They're appearing on the surface, mutating and worse of all jumped species, resulting in zombie humans. But thankfully, Marcus' dad is developing a ""cure"". Myrrah has him hostage so he can also cure all the locust as well, but there's no time. Marcus fights his way to him on a secret government island obscured by an artificial storm, kills the queen and the sci-fi beacon is activated. All lambent are killed, this includes the locust since they are a by product of lambent infusion for their initial creation. All is saved and humanity can have a huge fuckfest to revive the population.

You jump from basically from witnessing a planet wide genocide to a spook simulator in less than two games. Really puts into perspective that it's only considered a war crime if you lose and there is no one left to argue against it.

Birthing creches were a standard policy before E-Day because the Pendulum Wars was such a retarded shitshow between the COG and UIR governments. There is a reason why Marcus and Dom look like meat trucks while the average Stranded is a DYEL. Everything that wasn't relevant to the cause was boiled down and sent to the front. Foids would be bred until they're barren then they get send to die with the rest. They didn't even pay you in actual currency just food chips so you wouldn't be turned into corpse starch yourself. Nothing in this world was good and to call them humans is a stretch since Sera is a totally different world that operates on longer days than average. The actual history of the planet has a lot more in common with Kenshi than it does with Earth. Right down to the subsequent collapse and rolling energy crisis.

Just about nothing you said is true. Read the novels which are Canon. If what you said was true Cole and Baird would have been in the cog during the pendulum wars but they only joined after e day. There were plenty of people just living life not part of the military.

I feel like I might know you because I've shilled this game to most people I know. It's a fantastic game that scratches my itch. Like plague inc mixed with crusader Kings mixed with cultist simulator in some ways.
Always wanted a cultist game with a world where you can brew chaos and no game really does it like this.
Try out the mods if you haven't, alot add some cool new gods or events that mix things up nicely.

The COG created all of their own problems. They waged war on other countries for imulsion (oil) for years killing millions. They created the Locust Horde by experimenting on the victims who mined for this oil equivalent, which turned out to be a parasitic organism capable of mutating anything it comes in contact with. Then they experimented on those subjects children. Then the Locust Horde got mutated. The entire message of GOW is how glowniggers, unchecked fascism and war can destroy society.
