Why 4u considered the best mh ever?
I recently finished both 3u 4u and whole journey in 4u is so much worse

Whereas playing 3u was such a cool experience, its has much better maps and monster roster with very good weapon balance
Some may not like underwater but its pretty good to and overall create a very unique experience
4u truly feels like a pre alpha world made for westoid audience

In 3 and 4 the weapon was nothing but "Go sword mode, spam your two-hit vertical slice combo" with an occasional burst. World and early Iceborne it did slightly more but is still a weapon for retards who only want to remember how to do two things. Haven't played past that point so don't know how they've changed it.

Kushala is more or less the same
Chameleos is slightly better as a fight unless you really liked the completely invisible gimmick
Teo is objectively better with more blast cloud patterns and the supernova, and it's easier to not get randomly clipped by the flamethrower breath compared to FU
There is not a single fucking person who likes 1st/2nd gen Black and Crimson Fatalis and having to fight that shit over 4 hunts just to get a single wing

Have you played FU? He fucking jumps around and insta charges all the time. Most of the time you're praying for Teo to use the flamethrower so he finally sit still or the long ranged explosion clouds and praying that it's not the pattern where he does a tracking explosion at the end

Also I forgot to mention 4U elders are better by the fact that it's not a race to kill them in 25 minutes before they run away with their giant HP pool

Greatsword at used to require positioning and pattern recognition. Lance used to have cool dodge mechanics and you'd have to really practice the movement to get the most out of it. Hammer used to require a lot of good pattern knowledge, etc... Switch Axe was always just swing away where you can.

And he's 3 times faster in 4U for no reason on top of that. And his flame thrower does hard knockback and has more hitboxes, meaning even tanking it with shield for a huge opening isn't even an option. So now the only way to kill him is tickle his feet. That's just bad
Same for kush, he too chains a bunch of attacks in 4U, despite none of the attacks having enough endlag to justify. 4U elders are on the same crack Yian Garuga was on, but WORSE

Cats FUCK is 4U, my cats are constantly fucking the monsters up big time, fighter ace with heal horn and piercing boomerang and pure fighter with rapid recovery and that skill that makes it stronger the more it dies, both with blunt weapons, I have seen them KO a fucking zinogre with their boomerangs, they also are a free flash bomb AND buff my own damage with demon horn and true demon horn.

Sometimes I feel like they are the ones doing the hunt.

You can definitely kill Teo faster in 4U if we're comparing G3 quests. The new blast clouds provide more opportunities to attack him since he'll click his tongue to ignite them after setting them, which you can exploit with good positioning. Trying to headsnipe Teo in FU in comparison often leads to you getting insta charged for half your health because his head is fairly durable unlike Kushala

Both FU Teo and 4U Teo can combo you so they're the same in that regard. FU Teo because delayed wake up doesn't exist in that game and 4U Teo because his attacks don't knock you down hard enough to let you lie on the ground and delay your wake up

You don't understand how to guard lance.

The counter is a prediction tool you are meant to foresee what the monster is about to do then counter it to keep your pokes going, failing a prediction just ends up in a stronger poke anyway, if the attack is multi hit, has tremors or the knock back is too strong even at guard 2 then you are meant to guard dash and punish with a shield bash to close distances and maintain the offensive, never stay static even when blocking because when you move or poke you regenerate stamina.

Additionally, in 4U lance has an emergency stop button known as mounting, any time you need to do anything not combat related like sharping your weapon, heal or reapplying a buff you can proc a mount anywhere.
