WW1 and 2 games
Why don't we ever get WW1 or WW2 kino anymore

With today's tech we could have a massive game that lets you experience all the different facets and environments they took place in

I would love to fight in the trenches of the western front, the hills of the Mediterranean, the heat of North Africa to the ice of the north and east. Not to mention the pacific theater.

You could do so much cool shit but devs seem allergic to the setting now, what gives?

The last hope I had with a good ww2 game was battlefield 5 but they instead of making battlefield 1 but in ww2 like I hoped, they just made a shitshow of wokeism. That's when I gave up on ever getting good ww2 games in current days.

I like the ww1 setting but I'm not into fps games.

If you can get past the women (and the dumbfuck elite skins) the game is really good at giving the WW2 experience. The weapons are all modelled beautifully and behave as they should.

It's just that the atmosphere feels wrong. I don't even know how to describe it but it doesn't feel like I'm playing in ww2. The characters moves like it's Fortnite, the tanks move too fast and don't feel fearsome. It just doesn't feel right as a ww2 game.

I think it would be cool if we could get a ww2 game that had multiple campaigns set in each theater. like playing as the fins, russians, germans, japanese, americans, brits, even resistance forces in italy or france.
unfortunately it seems like people; and I mean everyone, from blue haired champagne socialist to brazilian white supremacists have an inability to see historical events solely as historical events.

I miss the WWII games from the late 90s and early 00s. Right now Sniper Elite is the only series doing that.

World at War wasn't too bad. That one had you playing as the Russians and the American campaign was set in the Pacific which isn't featured very often in shooters

>you can't do ww1 it's just muh trenches
Apart from all the other fronts
Also you could easily do a trench-based map, just use some imagination
>map begins with an artillery barrage on trench, that clears after a randomised amount of time, which begins a rush by both teams to take positions in the trench
>map takes place at night in fog - attacking team has to sneak across no man's land - getting into a gunfight in the open risks getting machinegunned by defending team

I'd love a properly made game about the WWs.
But we all know it can't be, shooters are all about selling you shit now

People made it very clear they were tired of it at one point (cod4 blowing up like it did) as well as the real reason: people that really appreciate historical settings are less likely to be on board with family guy crossovers and talking anime gun skins, essentials of the seasonal battlepass live service model.

I was going to post this. Hell Let Loose only has Europe and Africa I think but it's still a great PTSD simulator.

I've not played it, but Squad 44 is also meant to be good and i think they have an Iwo Jima map that's ridiculously big.
