The details could be worked out in any number of ways. Make it the most brutal, soulless and hopeless one of the series, like an entire game thats just apocalypto and cannibal apocalypse and that one scene where the conquistador or whatever gets split by a macahooti in front of russel crowe.

All of these are made thanks to human intelligence and hands dexterous enough to create and use them.
