>Play modern game
>Move camera
>Everything blurry

>Play old game
>Move camera
>Everything crystal clear
Why?
It almost hurts my eyes. It's so uncomfortable to play new games, it feels like my vision is degrading. Every game is so blurry or full of artifacts these days.
What console generation caused this?

This is why I only move the camera if there is a japanese woman

It's more cinematic

>What console generation caused this?
As with everything wrong with video games, it can be traced back to the PS360 era

Videogames trying to emulate movies has been a blight on the medium

Deferred shading mainly, you can't use proper anti-aliasing with it, such as MSAA, only TAA and FXAA. It adds blur in motion also ghosting. It was tolerable before, but with fake resolution it's become just awful

That is what made me make this thread, but it's been like this for a few years now at least. I don't usually play modern games, so it was a fucking whiplash and a half to try out Stalker 2. God it looks bad.

Is there any way around it? What if I turn off all that stuff? Am I left with a 640x480 resolution or something?

Lemme guess, you still play on 1080p. 1080p was always blurry

breaks effects like hair or clouds or volumetrics in many titles and in most games where this is a problem you don't have alternative choices for anti-aliasing so you end up with jagged pixels everywhere if you turn it off. thanks UE

Yes
>1080p was always blurry
No. And when it became blurry it was not as bad as it is now

TAA adds ghosting, FXAA doesn't

Your best bet is forcing DLSS 4 DLAA. It must be DLSS 4 not the previous models. DLAA just means its running at 100% resolution without any upscaling. If you do this you're essentially just swapping out TAA for nvidias latest model which has noticably less ghosting

Duly noted, will try it later. Thanks

Easiest way to do it is with the nvidia app (not nvidia cobtrol panel). Nvidia and game developers collaborate and "whitelist" games that they have tested it with.

But actually it works in every game that has implemented DLSS 2 or later. You can force it on with "nvidia profile inspector". I think you can also force it on with something called optiscaler or something like that

when you turn your head quickly in real life you experience motion blur. actual cameras also do. but i agree it feels bad to see in games.

It almost hurts my brain. It's so uncomfortable to experience, it feels like a simulation.

Morion blur and TAA ghosting are separate issues. TAA ghosting is only negative. Good per-object motion blur is a trade off, you're basically getting a blurred image but it looks like you're running at a higher framerate than you are

As if I ever play with it on. Motion blur is not the issue
