I just can't get into story game runs where they're mashing past the text. Maybe if I played more JRPGs I could enjoy them, but I really don't play many of them.

I guess I'd watch a Linda Cube "all animals" run. That could be fun.
Anonymous No.718060738
>>718060631
For Atelier runs, it's about finding out the fastest way to make items that let you blow up every enemy you have to deal with. If I remember right, Firis doesn't let you duplicate/reuse items until after the point the run ends at.

2 of the runners are doing it on classic instead of TGM mode, which is a shame, that's like a baby mode where you can climb with your rotations to avoid shitty drops.

I've only played vanilla Sophie and Firis DX, but after Dusk my interest in the series dropped off. I loved Hidari's art and the melancholy atmosphere, so going back to more traditional fantasy wasn't that appealing. I also made the mistake of trying out Resleriana when it launched...the lack of an actual world to explore around was appalling.

Roulette depended on the frame you stopped it. At the beginning they were pausing to get the frame where you get main ups. Later on they were just stopping it on the first frame which resulted in the health up. Occasionally they'd be a frame off and get sub ups instead.

Not sure about the avoiding damage part. Might be that the ninja had a bigger knockback or something.

All (or almost all) BSG posters are happy to merge threads. Some RTA posters would prefer their own thread, because BSG discussion typically takes up 80% of the thread, and if you're not watching BSG, that can be annoying to scroll through.

The reason to merge is because otherwise the threads will be "dead", which has never been an issue for RTA, but might be for BSG viewers who expect faster threads. Ultimately, it's a mismatch between western viewers who don't see the problem with merging threads because they hop between streams for boring runs, and NEET JSLs who just want to watch a single event.
Anonymous No.718137014 >>718137228

There's really no need to combine them to begin with. If I want to talk about RTA while I'm watching it, I would like the rest of the posts to be about it. Similarly it's easy to hop over to the BSG thread.
Anonymous No.718137228 >>718137513

While true from our standpoint, the problem is that BSG posters see it as "they're both events, I can watch both, why aren't you watching both too?", and then this gets exacerbated by a schizo who got really upset about being told to make his own thread to talk about BSG. So you wind up with someone getting baited into making a merged thread, and then all the BSG posters moving over.

Imageboards lose a lot of the bloat, but they're vulnerable to schizos. Without a name the schizo can't be spotted on sight and purged, and without names for everyone else the schizo can delude himself into believing that only 1 person is against him and so he's on a noble crusade.

This kind of thing is where moderation should come in, but expecting a mod on 4chan to understand anything other than "huh, there are people arguing, I should delete the thread" is a bridge too far.

They don't, the way charity events work is that the people who organise the event get kickbacks from the charity. MSF are one of the worst charities around in terms of investment return for individuals, but if you're hosting an event, they're the charity to pick because they're very happy to give you a large portion of the money you raised back so you'll keep the contract with them next event.

If it was an actual charity event, they'd be donating to Japanese charities. It isn't, the goal is making money, so they give to a fake charity.

The whole charity thing is very corrupt. MSF are actually well rated, they spend 14 dollars for every 100 bucks they raise, so that means RiJ is probably getting a kickback of between 8-12% of what they raised this year, which is 10 million yen, so the staff are making about 7000 dollars off the event. Which isn't a lot for a week of work divided up among half a dozen guys, but they probably wouldn't be able to run the event with a real charity, which will typically give you a 1-3% kickback, or 1-2 grand for this event.
