No. Remakes usually don't.

as an overall package I think the conciseness and novelty of the original keeps it securely above. 4make has higher fidelity and makes some interesting turns towards horror but it ends up being a sloppier more uneven package overall.

Every time you play a remake I want you to think about how much time it lets you see with moments in the original. They always try to “improve” moments in remakes but it always takes away the spirit of the game. Leon was not a charismatic action hero in Remake, Luis was not a sexist pig he was just a little flirty, Ashleys this closed off abused doll rather than a quirky cheerleader.

There’s no juxtaposition, everyone belongs in this horror game and theyre all grounded and it’s not resident evil at all

Krauser is better in remake and its not even close. They were of their time, but quicktime events in general suck. Comrade>rookie though.

No. Capcom actually did a pretty job on the remake but it never stood a chance against the original which is one of the best games ever
