Mark Cerny wanted PS4, PS5, PS6 and PS7 to be AMD APUs because it was cheapest and easiest for programmers. any optimizations done for PS4 will just help PC get further ahead. ps4 and ps5 are both x86-64

Because the consoles are locked down. And because even if they weren't different motherboards exist. You also can't put a 9950x3d on an AM4 mobo. I guess AM4 systems aren't PCs. You also can't upgrade laptop CPUs. I guess laptops aren't PCs.

Anyway, moving forward consoles will be open PCs. The next Xbox will be one and Sony will probably bend the knee by the PS7 or so.

The future won't be Nintendo. The hardware is too weak and the majority of gamers only care about multiplats. Couple that with paid voice chat in a completely separate ecosystem from everyone else and it's never going to take off in the same way.

Modern kids are growing up on Roblox and Fortnite, they won't have the same Nintendo nostalgia. Sony is carried by the same nostalgia from kids that grew up on their consoles, especially in the EU and the only Xbots left are old 360 dudebros. All of those ecosystems will see continual decline as they don't get new players, kids play on phones and tablets or want a PC to be a streamer and the continued rising price of games will ensure kids play f2p games instead of paying $80.

Console gaming will die. Microsoft realizes this and is pivoting, Sony must have gotten the memo too since they want to release more games as multiplats.

My PS5 just works. I do not worry about the games being available in other platforms, if that day comes. I do not worry about "exclusives" - I'm pretty sure my PS5 will have access to most if not all games released (except for Nintendo games obviously). So if I can play them, why would I care about anything else?

I know this is incomprehensible for PC fats - since they don't really play any games, just consoom Steam sales, they get entertained with console war drama.
