Yeah that's pretty much the linux experience. Any game that you play will break at some point and you have to spend some hours troubleshooting it.
But there is also a possibility that it's a bug with the proton version or custom proton version you are using to play and you have to wait for them to fix it, meanwhile everyone else is playing without issues on Windows.
The entire linux system feel pretty clunky to use

I don't think he fucked anything up, the distro he's using (Bazzite) is just bad. The only fuckup attributable to him is a dualboot setup with Windows, which is shit because Windows destroys these.

Not an artist, but I agree with the issue. Photoshop is industry standard. Workplaces dont give a shit if you cn do the same with Gimp. They provide photoshop and expect you to know it. If you dont, someone else with Photoshop skills in their cv gets the job.

General use laptop with linux and dock to use with primary display and kb/m. Desktop with both linux and windows, booting into whichever is best suited to task (games, workstation, etc). Home server and nas as a third machine, allowing the others to be powered off or disconnected while always-on services continue to run.

nigga people have been making art since the stone age. what fucking retarded argument is that. why don't you show up to a huge farm and tell the owner to stop using huge combines and instead just use a scythe by himself
it's absolutely pathetic how there are more complex shit that already have GOOD replacements like davinci resolve/fusion or blender, but for photoshop, a goddamn web app is better than anything linux comes up with for 2 decades

actually i wonder if his 14700K is the problem
i also have a 14700K and the default scheduler is too eager to use the E-cores, you need an alternative scheduler like scx_bpfland to make it behave properly
windows also does that shit btw but it probably stops trying to "save power" in game mode

That’s gonna be an interesting comparison, especially if you're still on the same kernel/Mesa version from the 7900XTX run. I remember swapping my 3090 for a 7900XT and getting wildly inconsistent frametimes until I tweaked the amdgpu powerplay settings and killed off amdvlk entirely. Honestly curious if the newer nvidia drivers improved their Wayland story since last time - DLSS actually working on Linux out of the box would be a miracle. Let us know what you get when you switch back.

The fucking hype about that fucking trash of an operating system is mindboggling, they somehow made people believe that everything would just run OOTB there and they won't have any issues, but once something is missing here comes the real trouble because those kinds of distros suck ass to fix issues which is why no one, specially a beginner who hates linux, should use them.
Plus, pretty sure this faggot went straight for the worst rated games on protondb, I literally been gayming on linux for the past decade and the only issues I've ever had were online games or recently radv being shit and not working properly, fixed it by installing the supposedly worse amdvlk.

How much of a difference does seccomp do security wise when used together with bubblewrap using --new-session? Is it just security kabuki?
I switched from firejail to hand written bwrap scripts but since I am too intellectually lazy I haven't bothered creating my own seccomp filter for these.
