It has way better combat because enemies don't die from one hit. In GTA 4 only a headshot is a one hit kill, in GTA 5 it feels as if you shot anywhere they die immediately.
I also prefer the driving more but that's a personal preference.

Well, technically, the GTA 5 approach is more realistic, as you are very unlikely to survive a crash like that IRL, but I do agree that from a gameplay perspective it's worse. It's a surprisingly excessive punishment for reckless driving in an otherwise very casual game.

I hate the driving in GTA so much. Whatever happens with GTA 6, no matter how woke it becomes just please, let the shooting and driving be great. It makes no sense that the 2 most important gameplay mechanics suck so hard. The driving in cyberpunk isn't great but it's still way more fun than GTA, especially modded bikes

Was replaying this game ealier this year and i can confidently say, i dont like gta4, at all.
The driving sucks, the shooting is unsatisfying, the city isnt fun to navigate and explore, the color palatte is exhausting with how drab it is, the radio is the ONLY not shitty part of the game.
