remake is pretty dam solid - hammond's and dr kyne's new dialogue is probably the worst thing out of the entire game but the revamped weapons and levels being interconnected without going overboard on padding really do flesh the game out in a great way if you've played the original 100+ times - that and the remixed enemies and new random encounters, especially on NG+ keep the game from feeling too predictable - anons will point to stuff like unisex bathroom signs, more colored people on the ships art and kendra's line of dialogue in the intro which is taken the wrong way by far too many as these huge detractors but the remake has so many positives i don't really see how you can say stuff like that when the biggest issue the game has is it's spotty performance on both consoles and high-end pc hardware
it's far from unplayable but it's also go some minor stutters that shouldn't really exist
sadly the game doesn't seem like it's getting another update any time soon if ever
it goes on sale often enough it's worth it if you like dead space
