By far the most effective anticheat I ever saw was actually implemented in planetside 2 (not for long)

they didn't ban cheaters based on detected hacks, they banned cheaters based on statistical distribution on a bell curve - because cheaters on a bell curve cluster at the high end, so you get a second hump in the curve which represents the cheater cluster.

Since you have all the statistical data on these players, and they can't stop you from recording their metrics - because they have to send their kill data to the server for validation of it. You have everything you need to figure out who is cheating just by statistical sampling, and ban them all.

So what they did was they implemented these short timeouts for cheaters that would trigger if they were scoring top 0.01% of players on headshot ratio or kills per minute, and ban them from the game for a few days automatically. The cheaters raised such a huge stink about it, all the same tired arguments about how they're just totally legit, that they convinced half the playerbase this would target them for "just being too good" and the planetside 2 devs finally shelved the idea and decided to simply let cheaters run rampant in the game

but to this fucking day I have not seen an anti cheat that worked even 1/10th as effectively as what they had done with their statistical sampling method.

genuinely good players aren't, they get tired, they have bad days, their aim isn't perfect every single kill, they're imperfect like humans are

Game sucks. Maps are small shooting galleries fit for CoD zoomers, and there's just no fun to be had.
Honestly fucking starwars battlefront 2 fills the battlefield itch more than battlefield.

The problem is that there's now a monetary incentive to be good at videogames (streaming career, esports, etc).
Which promotes cheating and training for pure performance. Even if you played BF for 8 hours a day, you'll still get mogged by some adderal addicted manlet who spends 6 hours in an aimtrainer instead. And even if you're legit and just naturally more talented, then you'll get fucked on by people who are training out of game AND cheating. Kinda like how lance armstrong was doping.

The solution is to play single player games and go /out/. No way to cheat at scuba diving or skiing.

My main complaint with this beta round is the maps being microscopic. And just corners and hallways, it's claustrophobic.

There's just one moment, it's the one with the rock, and there's a snap onto somebody to the right of somebody that gets killed that happens in like 0.1 seconds without even recognizing the person is there. The starting LMG is good; once you get the 200 round box and some attachments. Its still inaccurate as fuck but you can hold a spot and obliterate an army by yourself. The second HMG in an assault rifle configuration is better as your go to, its pinpoint accurate so it also doubles as a good long range/anti sniper fag weapon. Single shot + the attachment that improves single shot makes it strong at that.

The aimbotters know that there are no consequences for fucking around in the beta, they don't have to pay for a new cd key and they have a chance to test their hack and see how it works with the new release.

I don't think Empire State is nearly as bad as people say it is. The problem is that it's a small map among a bunch of other small maps.

Shotgun is definitely a problem. It may be frustrating being killed by it, but you don't really know how broken it is until you're using it yourself. And Empire State is definitely its best map.

Pulling out the shotty is always hilarious. It's usually when I'm completely out of ammo on my AR, and running into a push expecting to die, but it somehow miraculously wipes an entire squad.
That shit should at the very least not be allowed as a secondary.

Shotgun just needs some combo of pellet spread and sweet spot adjustments. It can be fixed and still have its uses, especially considering assault can carry it with another gun. It should demand you actually playing differently to get a lot closer, or take the time to swap to the mid/long range gun.
Everyone bitches about how in games where shotguns "suck" how they'd definitely kill at that distance in real life. As far as realism is concerned, I think it's fairly realistic that buckshot isn't a one hit kill mid range against soldiers with body armor.
The pump time seems really quick in BF too, it's not unreasonable that the shotgun can just be OK at slightly longer distances and requires two shots.
I don't know. The series has had shotguns for like 24 years, figure it the fuck out DICE.
