When a game is a gacha, there's a lot of extremely calculated decisions made about the gameplay and how much people will enjoy the game based on their spending, a regular game feels way differently than a gacha by the fact that they don't have to make you swipe your card.

I recently went back to Genshin Impact after dropping in two weeks after launch. So it's been several years. It's pretty good? Really gorgeous game. Been having fun.

Anyways, I couldn't tell you. Vast majority of it isn't really my cup-o tea.

Gacha is the primary draw while the actual gameplay genre matters less, it's like how Pokémon is a monster collector first and a JRPG second. Neither show up often in general genre discussions for the same reason.

The early years of Dokkan was when Gacha peaked. Legends sucks and I can just go to Gelbooru or wherever the fuck if I wanna jack off to anime bitches.
That being said Gacha "games" still suck and I've barely touched my Dokkan account in years aside from just claiming free Dragon Stones during events and summoning on the Dragon Ball Heroes banners when they come around each year.
