it will take people a while to understand and fully appreciate what I mean, but there is something to respect about part 2 because it is relentlessly, unyieldingly, fucking ugly. it is ugly in every sense of the word. dirty, brutal, pessimistic, revenge obsessed, jacked women going around with golf clubs killing characters people loved from the first, people getting emaciated and put up on crosses, pregnant women being slain, its a fucking disgusting horrific ugly piece of shit almost to a cartoonish degree and I respect it for that. In this instance, being artistic wasn't the main priority, it was killing off a masculine father figure in a beloved IP, loved mainly by straight male gamers, at the hands of an androgynous man-woman (might've well have been trans).
