PSP
I love this thing like you wouldn't believe.

>What are you fondest memories with it?
The one time I met some dude at a train station who flashed a CFW on my console for pocket change.
>What are your favorite games for it?
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, Dante's Inferno and both GoW games were pretty cool.
I mostly played Pokemon and Advance Wars on my PSP though.

Finding out there was CFW and getting emulators for it. They were slow but got the job done. First device I ever soft modded.

I should clarify that my fondest memory was the moment I could use my PSP fully without any restrictions.
Some fucking asshole stole it from me on a bus, even replaced the display at some point because I bashed it in while playing PGA tour.
I recently got a mint condition PSP FAT for free but bought a PSP-2000 anyway because I missed the feeling. It blew my mind how fucking easy it is to flash a CFW on there nowadays.

Learning I could browse the internet on it and looking up some monstergirl bestiary hentai that lead to a lot of escapist fantasies in my early teenage years.
>favorite games
Dissidia 012, by far.

Probably learning to install CFW on it, back when it was hard(er) to do. It helped me learn to properly navigate and utilise a computer by teaching me about files and the logic behind them. Been extremely useful and created a sense of independence because I could move on to pirate other things and the like.
>What are your favorite games for it?
Not many great games for it, but probably MHF1, MHFU, and FFT

I love the PSP. Fondest memories is downloading anime then watching it in bed.
I was ~15 and travelled alone to a different country to my grandparents, I remember being in a train in the winter with headphones on and playing Silent Hill Shattered Memories, felt like being transported to a different place.
I also remember doing chores around the farm and waiting for my little cousin, normally used the PSP as an MP3 player but that one sunny day I played some Ratchet & Clank Size Matters and got stuck at that Luna fight.
Another memory is playing a remake of Pokemon Gold/Silver that was like 90% complete on the GBA emulator, loved this shit.

I miss the PSP bros

Getting mine for free from a high school friend, then selling it back to him years down the line (since I thoroughly refurbished and cleaned the damn thing).
Lotta playtime went into Dissidia, Rengoku and MonHun.

Then, just for shits and giggles, I got a Vita for free down the line too (had to pay for a memcard because the vita.hacks.guide told me to get one AFTER factory resetting and updating the whole Vita, now their guide has a way to unlock internal storage for the 1000s, fucking cunts)

Just a Word of caution.
If you by any chance don't know JP and are playing a patched iso from CDromance/Repo, then it's not a full patch.
The main story is fully translated (based on an translation LP from YT). Anything else is JP exclusive. This is actually kind of a big deal because the game has this mechanic where you can challenge anyone to a duel and improve your rank. So yeah, you'd be missing a lot if you just stick to the plot.
Then again, you might actually know JP, or maybe they did a full patch (haven't checked the repo in a while) so what do i know?

Much as I love these, man I wish they ran at 60fps. Game was already hard enough on its original console releases, but now you have to deal with it at 30fps input delay and a smaller screen.

if you use VitaGrafix and overclock, you can achieve a semi-solid 50-60FPS, depending on the action
bit of a shame that it's just 30FPS when the OG Black was 60FPS

My Vita is old enough that I don't want to push the battery or thermals overclocking it. I do have my Vita TV, but if I'm playing the game in front of a TV I may as well just grab the Master Collection or emulate.

It is wild to me just how useable it still is.
Hell if the SSL certs were not revoked by basically the whole web you could still daily drive it for podcasts and the like because that was built in.
The internet radio still works on it, which is crazy.

just use iTLS Enso
the real issue is that it doesn't support modern scripting so a lot of webpages will be broken (for example github)
youtube and whatnot can be used with NetStream, and you can play PC stuff with Moonlight (the new versions really help)

Hard modding the thing. You ain't a real PSP chad if you didn't make your own Pandora battery. The high risk = greater rewards aspect of it all had me sweating bullets hoping I didn't fuck something up because there were so many pics and videos online where people fucked their battery causing fires. I then learned about the pencil method of drawing a line using the led from a pencil was enough to mod your battery and being shocked that it actually worked because the other method of trying to remove this tiny pin with no magnifying glass to see shit was insane to me as a teen.

Once I got it working the sky was the limit. I played so many great PSP games that I pretty much skipped all of 7th gen. 7th gen for me was the PSP and DS.

>7th gen for me was the PSP and DS.
It was the last good handheld generation, and the rare time I owned both of the competing hardware, since they both had libraries that excelled in the hardware limitations of both systems.

Don't know if it was the fondest, but I installed an ebook reader and put all Harry Potter books' pdf into it. Like a retard, I would read the books over and over again. It was during a troubled time of my childhood, which made me lose all joy from games and other stuff. The books were my only form of escapism and for some reason reading them on my PSP was the ultimate safe place for me. Using its physical buttons to read was more satisfying than scrolling on a touchscreen.

Favorite game would have to be Peace Walker. Ace Combat Joint Assault was also nice. Vice City Stories would be the third to complete this top 3. Basic, but idc
