WOW was just announced to be releasing for X-Box.

This is a win-win. WOW will get millions and millions of new players and Microsoft will sell millions of X-Boxs for people wanting to play.

how would wow work without addons? they're basically required to play.

Next gen Xbox is literally a reference device for OEMs like the Surface Line now. It will barely be sold anywhere globally, it'll barely be marketed, and it's only going to be sold on the Microsoft Store, not retailers. It's being sold to third party hardware companies, not us, it's their final in-house console as the future of Xbox, for a time before the pull the plug completely, will be OEM at varying high prices without generational leaps but increments.
