The reason these games are still played so much is because nothing more recent has been able to properly fill the same niche. Simple as

i've been playing what essentially amounts to mid-00's FPS games ported to VR.
Modern Warfare 2, Halo 2+3, Battlefront 1+2 all have very active playerbases as mods for contractors VR.
