Some inclusions in mine are the result of nostalgia and don't necessarily hold up anymore, but it would be dishonest not to include them for all the joy they brought in the past.

My experience with LTTP was unfortunately as a 6? year old who couldn't figure out what the fuck was going on in any genuine capacity. Filtered by having a tiny fucking brain. I really must give the legacy titles a fair shot.

But absolutely fair on metroid tbf I've never even tried to give that series a proper shakedown.

I'm completely cognizant of the fact that, as my first Dark Souls game, it has me enraptured in the fact that it was the first game I had played in years that had challenged me. I've since gone on to play and enjoy every Soulslike From has put out (excluding Bloodborne and Demons) - but DS2 just has this little special place in my heart despite being able to objectively point out facets that are better in other games in the catalogue. It's just a cozy feel for me these days, like a warm cup of tea. And I don't really feel that any of the subsequent games followed quite the same direction, imo it's the closest to DS1 of the whole spiritual series. Sekiro gets a huge look-in though, too. That's probably what I would consider my favourite From game now, but DS2 is where the love blossomed and it's where my emotional anchors are.
