Undertale has two gay pairings, one of which is carried over to Deltarune. Noelle has a crush on Susie but it's practically spelled out that it's a shallow infatuation arising from missing her sister. She becomes straight incredibly quickly in the Weird Route, if you headcanon Kris as male.

Considering how many people grew up in divorced households it's a relatable plot point more than being "woke." Said divorce has also caused some degree of trauma, which is realistic. Also Toby had the balls to paint Toriel as being chiefly responsible since Asgore wants to make up. Toriel also loses her perfect-mother veneer and it's shown how dating another man just hurts others.

That lion is wearing a dress to copy Mettaton, who himself is parodying a FF6 scene. It's more of a gag to poke fun at fans who will go so far.

Mainly because it's a copy of Episcopalianism, which is the gayest Christian denomination. Religion is usually either mocked or sidelined in most modern media so having the characters go to church and get a positive experience out of it was a good choice.
