look for ones with fucked up l and r buttons and circlepads, its the easiest thing to fix and the parts are cheap.

My aunt was going to buy my little cousin a whole new Switch when I convinced them that I can just swap out the cart reading piece. Im surprised my little cousin was so patient to wait a few months before they would visit again. Fixed it up while he helped me clean the exterior shell. Worked right away and he was super happy and his mom was happy that a $300 solution was actually $20.

For me the only 3DS games worth playing are Samus Returns and A Link Between Worlds. I replayed ALBW last week and will play Samus Returns later.
