And yes, cheaters are everywhere. Cheaters used to be just sociopaths and loners, but now a good cheat can be the difference between getting clowned on at school or becoming a twitch millionaire. Once people start cheating, they very rarely stop (unless they quit gaming altogether). Odds are there are atleast a couple in every server.

I have only one specific gripe with this game, from bf vietnam onward all I do is fly helicopters (vtols in 2142), sometimes jets, but 90% of the time helicopters.
I do not give a shit about infantry gunkata, I played one round of domination and topped the scoreboard instantly, it is not fun to me.
All I've done is play is liberation peak, if I don't matchmake it I just leave and re-search, so these gripes are specifically helicopter related from a veteran of over 5000 helicopter hours.
>liberation peak is unbalanced, the northwest team has a massive territorial advantage, the clear line of sight makes air suppression easy while south side is trapped in their base by the first point
>the helicopter's hud is an absolute clusterfuck
>it controls without any sense of speed or agility, it is a clumsy fucking thing that makes bf2's helicopters feel like fighter jets
>there is zero cover for helicopters on this map, there isn't a single fucking building over 2 stories tall, the trench in the north is a out of bounds death zone, and the south side is a mountain with zero cover, the map is such a tightly pack dense clusterfuck that there is nowhere to land where your helicopter isn't on a 45 degree angle because of rocks or assorted metal pipes
>even small arms fire tears through the helicopter's armor, 2 guys with ars can drop you to below half in about 3 seconds with zero effort because again, it's clumsy

It's not so much optimization that I'm worried about, it's about whether there is something wrong with my GPU or it's just DICEs games that don't like my GPU. I find this situation completely unexplainable for now. Since i do remember Battlefield V being fine on one of my old GPUs. But updates change games all the time, changes the conditions for errors etc.

Dice were always pretty good at optimization, so the last place i expected to get errors like this was in their games, that's why I'm more concerned that it's my GPU that is fucked.

I moved to CoD after V died (I got it for $20 at a discount and it was only barely worth it then). BF and CoD are going to a near future setting, which I don't like to begin with, but after reading about all the gameplay changes to BF on top of giving LMG's to the medic class for some retarded reason I think I'd rather go with CoD.

Maybe current maps would plat somewhat better at 48 players, maybe even 32?

There is no strategy, no placement skills/map awareness, it's just who hits the most shots first wins when you run into each other as you spawn or within the 100+ chokepoints.

The only map I can tolerate is Iberian Offensive. Empire State is too vertical and open so you have a billion vantage points to be shot at. L:iberation Peak is just a billion snipers and AA is shit you can't even fight against them while trying to deal with the jets/helis. Siege of Cairo is just boring.

Hasn't been battlefield since BC came out, but they can still be fun in their own (read: ripped off from CoD) way. Squad spawning and equivalent design metrics can get all the way fucked but let's be real, EA is never getting rid of it. You are. In the old games you could position knowing that enemies would be coming from (unless they were routing) one of the control points their team controlled, or a transport vehicle. And the maps were much larger and more open. In the new format, in addition to those points people can be spawning on other teammates or on recon beckons. They are more corridor-oriented with the bottlenecks being so many that you can't hope to control all of them.

So if you're playing them like the old ones it feels like enemies are materializing out of the fucking walls. If you're playing them recognizing these new factors, it plays like a Battlefield-influenced call of duty game. You can still do well (and have fun) but it's definitely not the same. The somewhat common docile/patient moments of old battlefield is not acceptable to EA. It has to be max sperg all the time.

16v16 worked just fine. Currently mcoms are about 20 seconds from spawn (run with gun faster with knife). The distance needs to be 40 seconds.
You add some transport options for the attackers so a squad can always get in and cause trouble.

Here's the thing, now is a good time to be vocal about those issues. They already said they're touching up on the suppression for the release, make it way stronger for a support with an LMG, but since I won't preorder (because why would you?), I'll be able to check if any of those things have been fixed on release.

The weapons make zero sense. M417 is designated as a fucking carbine so engineers can use it. It's a battle rifle with a 20 round mag, and shoots 7.62x51 rounds. That should be a weapon for the assault class, and there should be more battle rifles added into the game. Assault should be able to choose between both battle rifles, and standard powered ARs. Engineer should be locked to standard powered ARs. Battle rifles are basically ARs, but chambered for a higher powered round and typically 20 round mags. I prefer playing with a battle rifle, but the problem is in this game they're not really better than ARs. They don't hit harder. Well, they don't hit harder than the best ARs.

BF5 has battle rifles. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. Some people like me prefer battle rifle play, because you're typically engaging at medium to long range and using one taps, or short bursts. They can be used close range in a pinch but ARs are superior at it.

There should be a different category of weapons called battle rifles either that or throw them all into DMR. Not carbines.
