This. That was the perfect theme for Sephiroth, and I'm not a fan of SE using it as little as possible for him after FF7.

VII's soundtrack is magical, it's definitely the peak of Nobuo Uematsu's career as a composer.

because sephiroth after the original game is no longer a looming presence that's actually intimidating, he's just an over the top edgelord with homolust for cloud

so of course they wouldn't use the intimidating music that actually represents sephiroth and instead spam box over the top boss theme that was deliberately over the top and clashed with the rest of the game to make the climax actually climatic
now that's just the baseline, spam it everywhere, we're square enix and we're retarded and have been ruining our most beloved property for over 20 years

It was pretty good. The problem was that there just wasn't much story to cover in the section of the OG covered by Rebirth. FF games have always been back-loaded, the plot and stakes really kick in at about the midway point until the end, until then it's just standard adventuring. FF7 is the same. It would be pretty hard for them to fuck up part three given all the material and story they have to work with, but who knows.

It should've been two parts, not three. Spreading it across 3 games (likely requiring the player to buy 3 seperate consoles to play them all) just ended up with them over-stuffing each installment with ludicrous amounts of filler/padding so they could say 'hey this a full game'. FF7R got The Hobbit treatment.
Also no it shouldn't have been just one game, the only reason the OG FF7 works as one game is because of low fidelity and also having multiple discs, anyone who expected a modern AAA game to adapt all of the OG with the scope and graphics that FF7R went for in just one single release at a reasonable price was nuts.
