I honestly struggle to think of something more destructive to a story than that shitshow of a character

I don't see how this was any worse than the way starkiller base fired its weapon and wiped out the new republic because all their planets happen to be so close by.

Star wars had not had a single good entry for the better part of 40 years, what exactly did this destroy?

Disney Wars seems like a collection of cool-sounding scenes that were imagined, and then had entire movies made as an excuse plot to make them happen

What's wrong with lightspeed collision? I don't see how ships or planets don't catastrophically explode from all the retards travelling at light speed.

When was it good since 1983? Even that was the worst of the trilogy.

With starkiller base, they had to suck energy from a nearby star to fire it across the galaxy. It was stationary, and it was easy to take out with a dedicated attack.
With OP's pic, I don't recall there being an explanation as to why you're able to hyperspace ram here, but you couldn't do it before. Why weren't there more attempts at ramming capital ships at lightspeed before this point?
I'm sure they made some bandaid fix at this point, but it took me out of the movie and trilogy completely.

Based. If they did that more often I would've been fine with it since it's non canon.

unironically I think the concept of "canon" made SW a very dull and boring shitshow, where everything must be retroactively explained after the showdudes write wacky shit like OP.
It should just be a bunch of loose interpretations. Even though it wasn't good, Visions was at least pretty cool with just a bunch of jap studios doing whatever the fuck they wanted. Should just be like that. Even Gundam doesn't give a shit if it adheres to "canon" they just add the nth UC newest Gundam to a One Year War and just make it work somehow. I hate the pretense that everything needs to be "explained" or "realistic". If you're going to have asspulls, plot armor and dumb shit for fun, just go with it.

The old canon specifically addresses why hyperspace ramming doesn't happen in space combat. It WOULD work, but inhabited planets and big warships have these gravity generator things that pull ships out of hyperspace in their vicinity so no one tries it on them. The same generators also stop ships from entering hyperspace too so you can't try and pull hit and run shit either. The writers addressed this because they knew people would instantly go "why isn't all combat rendered obsolete and pointless by people flinging lightspeed pebbles at each other" and they'd be right.

Disney just threw all that logic out the window so they could have a big dumb action scene that doesn't make sense.

Something that looks cool at a glance, but makes no sense and is surrounded by writing that only gets worse the longer you think about it? Probably what >>718112490 said.

I feel like with disney canon it still wouldn't be that desirable because of how destructive it would be to any planets nearby. Imagine a chunk of your ship collides with a planet that you want control over.
