This was the first tales game i ever tried and I thought it was alright.
The 2nd one i tried was Tales of Abyss and I thought it was better

I haven't played them, but I feel a bit obligated to after cranking it to Ludger doujins

mixing artists on the main cast design and ufotable... tales never recovered from the trash xilia brought in...

I liked the slight differences in story based on your MC. It also introduced the true fusion between Symphonia and Destiny style combat system. I loved the instant party swap, and how your results screen could go up to six characters if you included your backrow characters in the battle. No, there hasn't. Not an actual 60fps patch anyway.
There's Kaldaien's tosfix which lets you uncap the framerate and run everything at x2 speed because the animations and physics in that version of the game were clearly not designed to be ran at 60fps, and then there's FrameGen via Lossless Scaling.

People enjoyed Xillia 2, especially the ones that disliked the first.

I have played every Tales game released in the US on release since Symphonia and Xillia 1 and 2 and some of my favorites and have been since I played them, fuck you. They are just so fucking weird for the Tales formula but in a good way, kind of like what Legendia tried to do but failed (still best OST though)

The 3D games are probably easier to get out of the way quickly. They can fire up the assets and hook the codebase to Unity, UE or what have you, tweak things a bit and get them running with ease.
The 2D games need a bit more love, and we don't even know how futureproof their codebase is. I think the fact that none of the 2D games have been ported, remade or remastered since Phantasia X (which is a PSP game that at its core is based on a PS1 version of the game) says a lot about that.

A lot of people hate the second half or last third of Tales games from every forum or discussion I always read about the series, while others love it since it's when you unlock the best combat mechanics and do endgame quests to get costumes or fight against cameos of previous games. Xillia's cast was handicapped and with low odds from the beginning, that's why they kept Alvin, I believe. Milla without the 4, Elise is a kid, Jude is a kid, Leia is a kid. Rowen is good but he is also old and the Chimeriad and Gaius are pretty competent. Exodus want their heads, too, and the are being followed by authorities after what happened in Fennmont in the beginning.
Someone like Alvin would probably be discarded in Berseria's cast, tho.
Their odds were pretty low but the cast has a decent power level and fighting experience.

Agree with you bro. I was disgusted by Graces but enjoyed Berseria's combat, but the reality is that it's just a turn based disguised as real time action. I guess Berseria's crystal system being tied to enemy stun probability and special attacks made it entertaining enough for me, probably there are even more nuances I can't remember, but it was fun playing around it, that said I still vastly prefer TP based combat rather than CC ones.

Are the Crestoria models ripped? I was thinking about how easy it would be to mod them into the game. Especially Xillia 2 that literally let you change character models as a feature/bonus with the EX Dungeon rewards.
