Not really, I've been playing it for years and even now I'm wondering if it's even worth it to hop back on and scratch that league itch. There is just too much bullshit that you HAVE to learn to deal with and with like 100+ champions, a new player is just going to spend his time getting incredibly frustrated and getting flamed over and over again for feeding.
2015 was the last year you could enjoy league as a brand new player.
Oh and if you still want to try out the game, just remember that you have to allow a chink anti-cheat to run all the time in the background, even when you're not playing. If you close it at any point or don't allow it to boot when you start up your PC, you won't be able to launch the game until you restart your computer.
