Microsoft firing all its devs and replacing them with unironic nigger faggots, troons, and AI.

It was a budget standalone expansion that pretty much had no pizazz, and the controversy of gutting THPS4, regardless of how some people feel about it, made many just not want to bother. With no big modern appeal, it seems the broader casual and younger audiences didn't really care either.

Trying to combine two disparate single player campaigns and compromising heavily on one of them to accommodate it.

I knew this was going to happen when VV was talking about doing this years ago.

Also the soundtrack is ass.

And it's still not that bad of a game, even I admit it, but it's not as fulfilling as THPS 1+2 since those games didn't require much compromise to work alongside one another.

They thought this would convince everyone that they planned to have Bam in there the whole time. Also Tony Hawks reason for gutting most of the memorable music was to give new acts a bit of exposure, because Kendrick Lamar definitely needs more of it.

I never played THPS4 so it was fine for me.
Got a nice remake of my childhood THPS game and there was also some extra map pack tacked on as well that wasn't as good as the THPS3 levels, but still fun enough.

Only complaint is that most of the soundtrack is missing.

Feeling like an expansion to 1+2 because it was greenlit pretty late and given to another team because VV was already subsumed into Blizzard. Besides that, nothing really outside of not getting the full original soundtrack. THPS4 maps adapted to the 1-3 formula mostly work (though some of the objectives aren't made clear by the fly-through), new maps are all very good, secret crossover areas are decent easter eggs that are also extremely skippable/ignorable and get you back onto the main map quickly.
