FE romhacks just seem so dime-a-dozen these days. I remember when a completed full-length hack was a rarity but now it seems like there's hundreds of them. But none of them seem any good.
Andaron Saga seemed promising but being made by fucking Mangs means it was obviously going to have awful writing, and I just couldn't get into the gameplay, so it was a total miss for me.

I'd love an TLP definitive Edition but we all know Blazer left the community to be a gym instructor, Nayr is making an prequel to TLP that revolves around Liam with that said since that was his character in it, so that's the next closest thing.

TLP aged like wine, it is just a simple game missing some QoL but it is perfectly functional from start to finish even if stuff like 4 Kings, Cerulean Crescent and Hag in White have more uniqueness going on.

There's also aspects in newer stuff I just can't get past, 4 Kings's entire design feels more "puzzle emblem" than I care about, Hag in White having some of the most hideous portraits i've seen to date with very quirky in a bad way personality's to boot...unique doesn't always mean better.

Definitive Edition will also have some of the gameplay ideas from Rebellion Saga, which is pretty cool. One thing I like from the AS games is that when a unit promotes, their portrait updates to reflect their class change.

assuming your removing the ones that need to be removed on there(the ones that can't be accessed anymore, Sacred Echos...), Rebellion Saga should be in "maybe play" and I'll withhold on putting Andaron Saga until I see if the Definitive Edition is worth a damn.
Dark Stone is pretty alright from what I've touched with that said even if it's too hard for me,Eligor's Spear also needs to be updated as both routes are finished on it now of course.
I really can't comment much on newer rom hacks as a lot of them either don't feel like fire emblem, or are so ugly looking that my first impressions are to not download it.
Maybe it's just me being a chud but the moment I see pronouns I just don't bother, more so if the lead is She/They.

fair on the warning, i'll accept that as a compromise, just a little something to make it clear "yeah there's typical gay changes that were not apart of the original echos that stick out more than Leon does" you have no idea how many people i've seen download this because they don't have an 3ds or can't get a 3ds emulator to work, then assume that the rom's head canon added in shit is a part of actual canon discussion, yeah it's autistic to get mad about this, but it's equally autistic to make SE's in the first place.
In general if a vibe of a rom hack is really faggot then it should have a warning slapped on it before it's added to the list, like people will swear by something like TMGC but leave out that the MC is a tranny, hoping you won't check her profile pronouns, it feels dishonest to not be upfront with that.

There's some other stuff than those two but those are the biggest examples of fuckery since Fernand admits having feelings for Matilda in the original game, and in one of his optional shard events has Clair poking fun that he prefers women "ripe and round", there's a difference between "Oh he's Bi because I want to ship him with Clive" and "Nah he only wants cock now" I know it's really small and petty to get upset about but I can only view it as a horny change and boy does it stick out like a sore thumb.

It's weird they shove that shit in the game that already has a gay character (and probably the best written one in the series, dude gets literally no way fag'd and takes it like a champ). Like if you really want to shove in another gay or troon, can't you just make it an OC instead of infecting pre-established characters with that stuff? At least Echoes itself had the excuse of most Gaiden characters having zero backstory to begin with so anything they added were just that, additions to the characters, not changes.

Yeah you'd think that's what they would do but no, instead the two OC characters are like, one of Atlas's brothers and a thief girl who's only personality trait is being horny for Silque, while understandable, this archtype blows with Faye so we really didn't need another one, It's extremely jarring that yeah we take a look at what might be the best written faggot and went "nah we need MORE" and you can tell the difference in how Leon is written and how the other stuff is written and it is fucking jarring, you can tell anything that wasn't written by the original IS team, and what's written by the romhack guys, it's not seamless.

I like neph and idk, Heathers grown on me, she's pretty one note as a character constantly flirting with girls but she doesn't cross into being overbearingly annoying like some OTHER fe thieves can be CATH and I welcome her giving the opportunity for nepheenee to express more character because neph is cute as hell but really has nothing other than being a country bumbkin as her writing. I do also just want more paired endings in RD in general, I'm disappointed that sothe/miccy and ike/soren (or ranulf) get to be a thing but for most of the rest of the cast they only get 1 generic ending
