Kojima, as in they're both hacks well past their expiration dates.

Friendly reminder that when Kojimbo was talking about inventing camera he was just talking about coming up with the camera item for taking photos in Metal Gear Solid. The original English translation really sucked.

>Visual art? Sculpture? Photography? Cinema? hmmm yes they all are simply inferior mediums, the comic book reigns supreme

I can't really think of an analogue to Moore in vidya, Kojima doesn't really work because other than a few surface details they have little in common. What they write about is completely different, as are their reasons for being interested in their respective mediums to begin with.

Except Moore's ideas make some sense sometimes.
Kirkbride is the biggest hack in gaming and people lick his nuts because his random nonsense is "weird".

Whoever wrote Disco Elysium, since they're both leftists obsessed with "maturing" the mediums they work in.

I'd say David Cage but only because I feel as though there's not really anyone in the industry like moore

I'm not sure about creatively trying to redefine their medium, but there were some devs cooking in the JRPG genre during the SNES and PS2 era with stories that even Moore would probably find interesting from how much research and passion went into things, like SMT and the Xeno series.

Besides being a bitter misanthrope why do we hate him again? I mean if its for the former then thats a bit odd when its the /v/ motto.

I feel like Avellone would be a candidate if he was more competent.

It definitely isn't Kojima. It'd have to be someone who feels a strong resentment for how the industry ended up.

I wouldnt read a novel or comic by Avellone, his prose is really pedantic and bloated
