Sure, youtube screwed over animators, but had he done something more interesting than "Taco Man plays" and whatever failed attempts at a revival series of some crappy cartoon he devised during the bush administration, he'd be at least as successful as the oney grumps. Or david firth.
He purged his newgrounds account, dmca'd wm so flash copies of his old stuff were purged, and proceeded to paywall everything he'd ever done and start fresh.. by making animations for children.
Like golfinho yuri, he did a name change and capitalised on making thousands of videos of low budget animations where trademarked characters do stuff. Set markers to "made for kids" and watch the youtube money flow.
As for his work professionally, I dont think he ever went too far with his freelance endeavours. He animated a few prank calls
